Department of General Medicine

The Department of Internal medicine is committed to the treatment of common illnesses as well as emergency and intensive care of life threatening conditions, grounded on evidence based and ethical practices. Investigation and treatment of various diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, bronchial asthma and obstructive airway diseases, pneumonia, liver and renal diseases, gastrointestinal ailments, arthritis, anemia and fever is carried out with the help of excellent nursing, paramedical and laboratory support systems.

We run a daily medical outpatient service, and also have in-patients admitted for various acute and chronic ailments. Apart from the in-house team for internal medicine, various visiting consultants in the specialities of nephrology, neurology, gastroenterology, dermatology and psychiatry also offer their valuable services round the clock. For cardiac consultations and emergencies, there is a full-fledged and well equipped cardiology department.

Intensive medical care is also provided, with facilities being available for mechanical invasive and non invasive ventilation, continuous blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitoring, supported by a team of dedicated staff.

There is also an ongoing teaching program for the post graduate students of family medicine, which involves regular seminars, journal presentations, and bedside clinics.
