Department of General Surgery

The Department of General Surgery forms an integral part of CSI Mission General Hospital. Common surgeries for hernia, hydrocele, hemorrhoids (piles), fistula-in-ano, fissure-in-ano, appendicitis, gall bladder stones, thyroid problems and more are done regularly. Laparoscopic procedures for appendicectomy and cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) are also performed. In-patient treatment is available for diabetic foot abscesses, cellulitis, infected ulcers, etc. Urologic procedures like URS (for kidney stones) and TURP (prostate removal) are done frequently. Facilities are also available for pediatric surgery and neurosurgery.

Adequate care is taken to minimize the costs of surgery and to reduce the economical burden on the patients. The Department of General Surgery always strives to provide optimal surgical care at affordable costs. The Kalaignar Kaappittu Thittam is in vogue and all surgeries included in the scheme can be availed by eligible patients as per the terms and conditions laid down by the scheme.
